Precision Dispensing
|
Digital Dispensing technology uses the proprietary True Volume Pump to fire up to 90,000 deposits per hour, forming high-definition dots, lines, fills and builds. This technology creates a high-definition dispense pattern one shot at a time. Each shape is precisely defined by true piston-positive-displacement, and volumetric accuracy is achieved regardless of deposit size, viscosity or temperature. Creative Automation Co., Sun Valley, Calif.
Extended Spray Valve
The FCS100-ES extended spray valve offers good coating characteristics by producing a concentrated atomized film with no overspray. The valve is said to produce razor sharp patterns down to 0.125-in. widths. The product has a divorced stainless steel valve body and is compatible with all conformal coating chemistries. A cylindrical spray nozzle concentrates the atomized air jets for optimal control. The FCS100-ES is available on all new PVA2000 selective conformal coating work cells and can be retrofitted to any existing PVA system. Precision Valve & Automation Inc., Halfmoon, N.Y.
Cordless Dispenser
|
The EZ-mixHI is a lightweight, cordless electric hand-held dispenser for materials packaged in 50-ml cartridges. Speed control varies the dispense rate, and the DripFree feature virtually eliminates drooling. This ergonomic dispenser reduces wrist strain, dispenses high viscosity materials at faster than 1cc/second and is available for rations of 1:1, 2:1, 3:2 and 4:1. Dispensing Technologies International Corp., Clinton, Mass.
XYZ Gantry Tables
|
A complete line of three-axis XYZ gantry tables includes two entry-level models with stationary work platforms. The TS3030 uses stepper motors and offers a 300-mm x 300-mm work area. The TS4545 uses servo motors and offers a 450-mm x 450-mm work area for larger dispensing operations. Both models are available in standard and extended gantry heights. The XYZ lines also offers two versions of software: a DOS-based entry-level environment, and Techconsoft, a Windows-based programming platform. Techcon Systems Inc., an OK International Co., Garden Grove, Calif.
Third-generation Pump
|
The DV-7000 Heli-Flow pump ensures consistent performance through its rotary positive-displacement auger design, and it is capable of producing dots smaller than 0.38 mm (0.015 in.) with dispensable-grade solder pastes. The pump dispenses medium- to high-viscosity fluids and pastes for a variety of applications, including small-dot dispensing of solder paste, surface mount adhesives and silver epoxy. The pump's floating head and industry-standard fixed mechanical standoff nozzles afford repeatable, precise dispensing with high throughput. The closed-loop motor control, with encoder feedback, can be reversed to create a clean fluid cutoff, ensuring increased dispensing control and accuracy. Roller-bearing slides, a lightweight titanium cartridge and a ball-and-spline drive system minimize friction, allowing light touch to the substrate and increased positional accuracy. Asymtek, a Nordson Co., Carlsbad, Calif.
Spray Fluxing System
The Opti-Flux II spray fluxing system for application of flux to printed circuit boards achieves a less than ±3 percent deposition variance, making it well-suited for applications that require tight control over the amount of flux applied. The system is self-adapting and programmable, and can meet any process parameter, including board size, conveyor speed, type of flux and deposition amount. The spray is produced with a proprietary technology that uses a solid vibrating titanium surface rather than a nozzle to atomize the flux. The ultrasonic energy produces small drops, then air jets shape and accelerate the spray. This results in a uniform rectilinear spray pattern with enough force to ensure complete through-hole flux penetration. The spray fluxer can apply a wide range of fluxes, including no-clean, O/A and RMA. Ultrasonic Systems Inc., Amesbury, Mass.
Retaining Clips for Filled Cartridges
ConProTec's Retaining Clips enable cartridges to withstand pressure differentials associated with air shipments in accordance with the U.S. Department of Transportation. The clips ensure that pistons remain in place despite radical shifts in pressure, and work with all available ratios of the 50-ml and 75-ml cartridges. ConProTec Inc., Salem, N.H.
Pneumatic Dispenser
|
The 8400 pneumatic dispenser is a classic valve controller with a steel case and powder-coated construction. Its versatility allows for dispensing from a bulk source, from large containers or smaller pots. A precise, all-digital timing sequence can be fired by foot pedal or finger switch, allowing the operator to accurately control the dis-pensing action of a variety of valves, including high-pressure stainless steel, spray and metering valves. Fishman Corp., Hopkinton, Mass.
Fan Width Control System
|
The Automatic Fan Width Control system for printed circuit board conformal coating eliminates the need for manual adjustments and automatically measures the width of the fan of fluid as it exits the nozzle and adjusts pressure accordingly. During the conformal coating process, changes in fluid viscosity, caused by temperature variations, can affect material flow and fan width, causing variations in the coating deposition. The fan width control system overcomes these process variables to deliver consistent, repeatable dispensing throughout the production cycle. The product is available on any existing Nordson SelectCoat or Century conformal coating system and can be retrofitted to existing units. Nordson Electronics Systems, Amherst, Ohio
Modular Dispense Valve
|
The Model 1230 positive displacement dispense valve is divided into two parts: a wetted module that contains the metering chamber and a power head module that pneumatically drives the metering rod. Characteristics include corrosion-resistant plastic and stainless steel materials, a linear shot adjustment scale for reproducible shot size adjustment accuracy, a simple modular design with only one seal, a diaphragm outlet check that reduces pack-out and filtering caused by hard check mechanisms, and shot size ranges between 0.010cc and 0.500cc. Dispensit, a unit of Liquid Control Corp., Indianapolis, Ind.
Chemical Dispensing Pumps
|
Barnant's two series of timed dispensing pumps are self-priming, non-siphoning and have no valves to clog or seals to leak. The basic mechanical “M” series offers a 24-hour timer, that can be set in 15-minute increments. The programmed cycles work continuously until reset or power is terminated. Flow rates range from 5 to 6,840 ml in any 15-minute period.
The digital “E” models dispense set volumes of fluids or gases each time the front panel switch is depressed or remotely via dry contact closure activation. This series can pump 9 to 59 seconds in one-second increments, 1 to 10 minutes in ten-second increments and 10 to 60 minutes in one-minute increments. Cycles will not repeat without local or remote contact closure activation. Flow rates range from 0.4 to 456 ml/minute. Barnant Co., Palatine, Ill.
