Delphi is expected to assign three researchers to Wayne State’s lab, which will be renovated by the end of the year. The researchers will have the titles of adjunct professors but remain Delphi employees.
Delphi said in its news release that it will donate more than $6.5 million worth of equipment that will be part of a “clean room,” or controlled-environment, in Wayne State’s Smart Sensors and Integrated Microsystems Laboratory.
“Wayne State is committed to providing the best available resources to enhance the quality of our research,” said Wayne State President Irvin D. Reid in the news release. “We are very pleased that Delphi, who is also committed to creating the next advancements in sensor technology, is working with us to equip this state-of-the-art clean room.”
