Kurabo uses Agilent chips for gene analysis

Sept. 12, 2002 — Kurabo Industries Ltd. of Japan said it will use DNA microarrays developed by Agilent Technologies Inc. for gene analysis services, according to Asia Pulse.

Kurabo will analyze genes and record results in standard spreadsheet software for other companies. The glass microarrays will be supplied to Kurabo from Agilent affiliate Yokogawa Analytical Systems Inc. in Tokyo, the report said.

Kurabo teamed up with Incyte Genomics Inc. in 1999 to start a similar service but that collaboration ceased in March after Incyte left the gene analysis business.
