March 12, 2003 — Two units of GE Industrial Systems that develop miniature thermistors, silicon microstructures and sensors — GE Thermometrics and GE NovaSensor — announced agreements with Edwards Lifesciences Corp., an Irvine, Calif., developer of products to treat cardiovascular disease, according to a news release. GE Industrial Systems is a part of General Electric Co.
The two GE units will provide thermistors and pressure sensors for catheters and disposable blood pressure transducers produced by Edwards. The deals are worth more than $50 million over the next five years, according to the release.
