Contract Pharmacal gets cGMP registration

APRIL 24–ANN ARBOR, MICHIGAN–NSF International, a public health and safety consultant, has awarded current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs) registration to Contract Pharmacal Corporation, a manufacturer and packager of dietary supplements, over-the-counter drugs and prescription pharmaceuticals.

NSF conducted a plant audit at the Contract Pharmacal facility in Long Island, N.Y. to verify compliance to cGMPs and will conduct periodic audits to verify continued conformance.

“With the new FDA GMPs just being released, achieving GMP Registration is more important than ever,” said Kathleen Pompliano, manager of NSF’s dietary supplements program. “Contract Pharmacal’s GMP registration confirms their commitment to quality and provides them with a clear advantage in the industry.”

Matt Wolf, vice president of sales at Contract Pharmacal, noted that cGMPs were always part of the process.

“Since the company’s inception in 1971, we have been manufacturing according to drug cGMPs, which are even more stringent than the newest FDA proposed regulations,” he adds “We fully intend to continue to meet these elevated standards.”
