Wacker Siltronic planning April IPO

February 26, 2004 – Wacker Siltronic, the wafer unit of Wacker Chemie GmbH, Freiberg, Germany, is planning an IPO by mid-April, according to a statement made at the company’s earnings conference.

Siltronic would use the funds to increase 300mm capacity and build a production facility in Asia, as well as pay off debt, according to Dow Jones. Deutsche Bank and Morgan Stanley are managing the deal for the company, which reported 2003 sales of 877 million euro, down 5.5% from 2002.
