March 21, 2006 – Rambus Inc. has signed what it calls its “first system-level patent license” with Fujitsu Ltd., agreeing to license chip interface technology spanning both manufacturing and sales of systems, semiconductors, and all other segments of Fujitsu’s business. Fujitsu’s payment amounts will be based in part on the relative volume of DRAM that Fujitsu purchases from memory suppliers — even if they already have their own license deals with Rambus.
