April 10, 2006 – Demand for conventional leadframe and array connect assembly applications gave a hefty boost to new orders in 1Q06, according to equipment provider BE Semiconductor Industries NV, Drunen, The Netherlands.
The company expects 1Q06 orders will have increased 22% sequentially and 49% year-on-year to approximately 60.0 million euros (US $72.6 million), thanks to demand for conventional leadframe applications and array connect assembly applications, as customers increased aggregate semiconductor manufacturing capacity.
Net sales are seen decreasing 8% sequentially to 44.0 million euros ($53.2 million), but will be up 20% year-on-year. The backlog has increased about 27% to 72.0 million euros ($87.1 million). Final results will be released on April 19.
