Akrion names industry vet Kirlin as chair

January 9, 2007 – Akrion Inc. has appointed Peter Kirlin as executive chairman, replacing David Preiser, who stepped down to manage European operations for Akrion’s principal owner, investment bank Houlihan Lokey.

Kirlin, an Akrion board member since 2003, has more than 20 years’ experience in the industry, including a three-year stint as CEO and chairman of DuPont Photomasks from 2000-2003. He also has been a group VP at ATMI, and chief business development officer at Mykrolis (now Entegris).

“Akrion was served well by Mr. Preiser and we thank him and wish him well in his future endeavors,” said James Molinaro, Akrion president and CEO, in a statement. “We are excited about the appointment of Peter as our executive chairman. He has a wealth of experience and we look forward to his guidance as we continue to grow the company.”
