Connector Company Acquires Packaging Technology

PARIS – Souriau S.A.S., controlled by Sagard Private Equity Partners, signed a binding agreement to acquire U.S. operations of Pacific Aerospace & Electronics Inc. (PA&E). The acquisition is expected to be complete by March 2007. PA&E’s U.S. operations (Wenatchee, WA) design and manufacture microelectronics packages, ceramic and metal components and assemblies, and hermetic connectors.

The company’s proprietary technologies include ceramic-to-metal hermetic sealing and explosive metal bonding processes for components used in harsh operating environments of defense, aerospace, oil, and medical applications. It generates $21 million annual revenue. The deal is subject to U.S.-government authorization.
