Microfiltration membrane

Microfiltration membrane

The Kerasep ceramic micro- and ultrafiltration membrane, produced by the French company TECH-SEP, is used for tangential and ultra-filtration applications in water treatment, environmental protection, biotechnologies, the agro-food sector, paper production, as well as the chemical and petroleum industries.

Kerasep consists of a titanium dioxide or zirconium dioxide membrane on a monolithic aluminum oxide/titanium dioxide support. It`s resistant to all solvents and chemicals, except hydrofluoric acid, as well as to physical wear and tear and to thermal shock. Standard units can be operated at temperatures up to 350&#176C (662&#176F) and pressures to 10 bars (145 psi), with filters exhibiting greater temperature and pressure resistance available by special order. Microfiltration membranes are available with pore sizes of 0.1, 0.2 or 0.45 mm; ultrafiltration membranes are available with 15 or 300 Dalton cut-offs.

Kerasep membranes are mounted in modules constructed of polyvinyl chloride or type 316L stainless steel. Production modules contain up to 99 membranes and offer total membrane areas ranging from 0.8 to 25 m2 (8.6 to 269 ft2). Throughput can run as high as 85m3/h (374 gal/min.). Smaller micro (laboratory-scale) and pilot plant modules are also available.
