Steam injection heaters

Direct steam injection heaters, approved for 3A sanitary applications, are now available from Hydro-Thermal. The heaters provide temperature control and stable operation where heating of water or other liquid mixtures is needed in a sanitary environment. They are designed for food, pharmaceutical and biotechnological facilities that have processing and other manufacturing operations. The heaters are the only direct-steam injection heaters that are self-draining from multiple orientations?minimizing the chance of water collection that can facilitate bacteria growth. The units fit easily into existing process piping. They can handle flow rates up to 150 gal a minute and steam flow rates up to 13,000 lbs./hour, with a maximum temperature rise of 25!, and temperature control to ?0.5!F (0.25!C). The heaters are available in three different sizes.
