Ultraviolet light source

Ultraviolet light source

The UVC Emitter, a biocidal ultraviolet light source that provides microbial control in HVAC systems, has been introduced by Steril-Aire USA. The patented device, the first specifically engineered for the HVAC industry, represents a significant advance in indoor air quality control, according to the company. It kills both surface and airborne microorganisms that commonly circulate, thereby preventing the spread of these contaminants and reducing the potential for airborne-transmitted diseases and allergies. The UVC emitter produces more than five times the radiant output of conventional UVC lamps under typical HVAC conditions. It also provides plasma stability and a broadband UVC waveform for sterilization of a broad range of species. The UVC Emitter fits easily into new or existing HVAC systems.
