Chrysler Upgrades Paint Spray Garments
Auburn Hills, MI–Chrysler Corp.`s Paint and Energy Management Group is establishing and upgrading all its specifications for paint spray garments–including fabric selection, garment design and construction, and laundering of garments. A local third-party organization has been hired to coordinate and execute the new specifications/upgrades for Chrysler, working with Chrysler vendors in the area as well as worldwide.
Inaugurating what could be an industry trend, another auto giant–General Motors, North American Operations–has upgraded its specifications for paint spray garments to help control human-sourced contamination, according to Glenn Ryan of the NAO Manufacturing Center (Warren, MI). “Paint spray quality has become an important issue over the last 10 years. Users have been struggling with `dirt` issues and related cleaning methods in an effort to move towards zero defects, and are `getting serious about contamination control,” he says.–SE
