Trion Acquires Envirco

Sanford, NC–Publicly-owned Trion, Inc. has acquired Envirco Corp. (Albuquerque, NM), a manufacturer of air filtration products for the pharmaceutical, medical device, semiconductor and microelectronics industries. The acquisition makes Envirco a wholly-owned subsidiary of Trion, and is part of Trion`s strategic plan to complement its growth in air-cleaning products for industrial, commercial and residential markets with complementary technology in the high-efficiency air filtration business.

Trion does not expect to make any operational changes at Envirco, with current management remaining in place. According to the company, Envirco became the first manufacturer of laminar airflow cleanrooms in the world, when they built a prototype for physicists at Sandia National Laboratories in the 1960s.

“Trion`s strength is serving the traditional manufacturing markets and commercial markets,” says Steven L. Schneider, president and CEO of Trion. “It`s an excellent match with Envirco`s strength in the high technology, semiconductor, pharmaceutical and medical markets.” The company reported a second quarter 1995 sales earnings increase of 15 percent over last year, from $7,637,000 to $8,799,000.
