Optical Detection System
The Vigibat 2800 system, designed and developed by France`s AGT/Infoconcept for use in public access facilities, automatically turns lights, heat, and air-conditioning systems on and off as people enter or leave an area. The Vigibat 2800 uses optical detectors that combine infrared and motion control technology to detect human presence. Heating and air-conditioning systems cycle between adjustable comfort and economy levels, depending on whether humans are present or not. A separate control loop maintains economy settings if either a door or window is left open. On the other hand, an integrated weekly programmer can be used to heat or cool buildings before occupants arrive. System settings can also be remotely switched, using a telephone transmitter. A pushbutton on the front of the unit makes it possible to override current functions and automatically return to minimum settings. Settings cannot be adjusted by occupants, since all controls are inside the unit.
