United Air Specialists` Porta-Cat portable air cleaner captures smoke, fumes, and dust at the source for welding, brazing, soldering, dry-machining, laser-cutting, and plasma-cutting applications. Featuring the new Para-Vent hood design, the air cleaner offers multiple filtration technologies and efficiencies (up to 99.9 percent) and a media surface collection area 30 percent greater than the industry standard, which means fewer filter changes.

By utilizing an upward airflow pattern in the source capture swing-arm, Porta-Cat`s design encourages the natural drop-out of large particles before they enter the primary filter. The unit moves easily on casters, capturing pollutants at a greater distance from the source than comparable units, the company claims.
