Cleanroom Disposables Projected for 240% Growth

Northbrook, IL–Cleanroom disposable sales to developing countries are forecasted to increase 240 percent by the year 2000, predicts The McIlvaine Company (Northbrook, IL). Newly developed and developing countries are providing the most rapid growth in sales of cleanroom disposables (clothing, gloves and other supplies), the “World Cleanroom Market” report says. McIlvaine predicts a worldwide increase from $2.1 billion in 1995 to just under $4 billion by the year 2000. However, in the rest of world (ROW) segment, which contains 85 percent of the world`s population and includes all countries other than the U.S., Japan, and Western Europe, disposable sales will increase from just over $500 million per year in 1995 to just under $1.4 billion per year by 2000, which represents a 240 percent increase in disposable sales over the period. In 1995, the ROW segment purchased 27 percent of the disposables. That figure will increase to 35 percent of the world`s purchases by 2000.
