Semiconductor Fab Database Available
Mountain View, CA–An electronic database of worldwide semiconductor production facilities contains almost 1,266 reports on existing and planned wafer fabrication lines. The “International Fabs on Disk” database includes 185 new lines scheduled to begin production between 1996 and 2003. It is available to members of the Semiconductor Equipment and Materials International (SEMI; Mountain View, CA). The latest database includes a new “Delays” field, indicating at least 10 facilities that have announced delays in construction, most for a period of six to nine months.
