Vibration-absorbent rubber pads
Fabert S.A. has a new series of synthetic rubber pads that absorb vibrations in the very low-frequency (VLF) range down to 3 Hz. Made of three interlocking polychloroprene layers, the pads can be mounted on various types of laboratory instruments and machinery. Equipment may be isolated from ambient vibration, which adversely affects reading accuracy. Vibration produced by machinery such as cutting tools, stamping presses and motors can be prevented from traveling into adjacent floors and benches. In addition, vibration can be kept from reaching such machinery and adversely affecting its performance. Faber`s Stabren material mimics some of the properties of dolphin skin, which is highly effective in reducing the effects of turbulence in water. The VLF products are an addition to the existing Stabren line of two-layer products which cover the 15 Hz to 20,000 Hz range.
