An Invitation
Lisa A. Karter
Chief Editor
Next month is our 13th Annual CleanRooms East International Conference on “Advanced Technology and Practices for Contamination Control.” From March 3 to 5 at Boston`s Hynes Convention Center, you`ll find valuable information about our industry.
CleanRooms East `97 isn`t just about the semiconductor industry. It`s about all the industries CleanRooms readers are working in: pharmaceutical, food, biotechnology, plastics, healthcare, and dozens of other industries that use and require clean manufacturing technology.
I invite CleanRooms readers to attend CleanRooms East `97. On page 13, you`ll find information on registering and attending. At the show, you`ll find both basic and advanced courses on contamination control technology; you`ll also find information on the hundreds of products featured monthly in the magazine when you peruse the exhibit hall.
We are extremely proud of our conference program. It has evolved in response to our attendees` needs and wants, the market`s technology and the ever-expanding R&D functions of our reader`s companies. Not only is it a launching pad for training and educating contamination control personnel, it`s also an important networking opportunity for exchanging ideas.
While you`re attending CleanRooms East `97, stop by our booth and meet the editors. Our number one priority is to meet our readers face-to-face. We have spoken to so many of you via the telephone, E-mail, postal mail, and fax but nothing replaces a good old-fashioned handshake and warm “hello.”
Our most recent addition to the CleanRooms staff is Kelly Sewell who is our new Managing Editor. Kelly hails from Military & Aerospace Electronics, a sister magazine, and has several years experience as a technology editor, writer and reporter. Associate Editor Susan English, who many of you know as our product round-up and news editor, will also be attending the show. All the editors look forward to discussing the latest technological trends, products and news with you. After all, this is your magazine — let us know what you`d like to see in its pages and don`t forget to tell us what`s going on at your company.
If you`re too busy to stop by the booth, you can always catch the CleanRooms editors at the conferences, seminars and workshops. Or, come make our acquaintance at one of our networking events. We`re always glad to hear a fresh perspective.
We hope to see you all in Boston next month! Let`s compare notes and ideas on where the contamination control industry is heading in the next 10 years.
