BOC Gases builds $40 million air-separation plant
Murray Hill, NJ
A new $40 million air separation plant in Chester, WV, will provide northern West Virginia, western Pennsylvania and eastern Ohio with an additional 1,200 tons of oxygen and nitrogen per day when the plant is complete in 1998. The facility will be built by BOC Gases (Murray Hill, NJ) next to an existing company facility in Chester. The new plant will supplement the recently completed $30 million upgrade to the existing Chester air-separation facility, which included construction of a 14-mile pipeline from Chester to Weirton Steel, and the installation at Weirton of a 45,000-standard-cu. ft./hour hydrogen plant. – KS
