ESD wipe

Texwipe has recently developed the ESD Wipe (TX4025) for ESD-sensitive operations in electronic device cleanrooms. A 9-in. by 9-in. continuous-filament, knitted nylon wiper, the ESD Wipe utilizes a proprietary organic reaction that dissipates electrical charges to a measurable surface resistivity of 106 ohms without reliance on humidity or ambient moisture. Uniquely suited for dry use in critical environments either as a wiper or as a clean and electrically dissipative work surface, the ESD Wipe uniformly dissipates charges across its entire surface and through its body. Unlike traditional ESD-safe wipers that utilize a carbon-filament grid or stripe-conductive system, ESD Wipe dissipates cleanly, without the risk of carbon leaching or particle contamination, according to the company. Uniform dissipation eliminates potential “hot spots” of charge or the need to contact a specific filament in order to drain an electrical charge.
