MGC Pure Chemicals America Inc. doubles North American facility

Mesa, AZ

The U.S. subsidiary of Mitsubishi Gas Chemical (MGC) — MGC Pure Chemicals America, Inc. (MPC) — plans to double the size of its 20,000-sq.ft. Mesa, AZ, facility in order to meet the semiconductor industry`s increased demand for ultra-pure hydrogen peroxide. Doubling its size will lead to double its current 5,000 metric ton/year capacity in 1998, when it plans to simultaneously introduce a higher grade of the gas: ultra-high purity hydrogen peroxide. MPC opened its present facility in May 1996, using purification technology licensed from MGC in Japan. MPC`s Mesa plant is MGC`s leading domestic source of ultra-pure hydrogen peroxide with trace metal impurities of less than one part per billion (ELM-A grade) and less than 100 parts per trillion (UELM-A grade). — SES
