New Crysteco plant to improve cleanroom operations

Crysteco Inc.`s (Wilmington, OH) purchase of Fabico Inc.`s Allen, TX, epitaxial facility will add capacity and improve cleanroom operations as part of a $9-million re-engineering to prepare the facility for the installation and operation of new LPE 2061 epitaxial reactors. The facility currently produces 100 mm, 125 mm and 150 mm diameter epitaxial products using Gemini reactors. The first LPE reactor will be up and running by August 1. The facility is expected to produce more than one million wafers annually by 1999. — SES
