City water treatment facility among first to use RO technology

The City of Chandler, AZ`s, Industrial Process Water Treatment Facility, which processes wastewater from Intel`s Fab 12 microchip manufacturing facility, is among the first in the U.S. to use reverse osmosis to purify wastewater. The facility purifies the wastewater used in the chip fabrication process, then injects it back into the groundwater supply. Black & Veatch (Kansas City, MO), an engineering/construction firm, headed the project. –KS
