Clestra elected to USIBC

Clestra Cleanroom Inc. (Syracuse, NY) is now a member of the board of the U.S./Israel Biotechnology Council. Scott Mackler, general sales and marketing manager, will represent the company by serving on the board. Among Clestra`s Israeli projects are a fully automated lyophilization facility for production of Teva Pharmaceutical`s Copaxone drug to treat multiple sclerosis, and the Taro Pharma facility in Haifa, which produces human cytotoxic parenteral formulations. Other companies with representatives on the board include Bio-Technology General, Centeon, Baxter Healthcare, Bristol-Myers Squibb, Johnson & Johnson, Cato Research, Ciba-Geigy, Teva Pharmaceutical, SmithKline Beecham Pharmaceuticals, and the Weizmann Institute of Science. — KS
