Ultrasonic humidification systems
Stulz of North American, Inc. offers clean and energy-efficient ultrasonic humidification systems for use in cleanrooms and other areas requiring precise and clean humidity control. Ultrasonic humidifiers use mineral-free deionized water, which eliminates harmful deposits. According to the company, they are also very energy efficient because they generally need only 7 percent the electrical energy required by electrode steam or infrared humidifiers. A fully proportional controller provides accurate control and monitoring. When com bined with the instantaneous Stop/Start characteristic of ultrasonic humidifiers, the system produces high accuracy control close to ± 2 percent. A cooling effect is produced via the adiabatic humidification process, eliminating heatloads typically added to the cleanroom environment by conventional boiler-type systems. For every pound of humidification introduced per hour, the Stulz ultrasonic humidifier introduces approximately 1,000 BTU of free cooling into the cleanroom, providing further savings on energy and operating costs. A wide range of ultrasonic humidifiers is available in easy retrofit packages for existing air-conditioning units. Standalone and ductwork models are also available, and other configurations are offered to meet specialized application requirements.
