Farr announces merger plans

Farr Co., an international manufacturer of filtration products for engine, railroad, gas, turbine, pollution control and air conditioning applications, recently announced plans to acquire Metalcraft Air Filtration, Inc. based in North Carolina. The merger will allow the company to expand its product line in strategically targeted areas. MCF, which will continue to operate out of its Southern headquarters as a division of Farr, produces specialized filtration systems for a variety of industries, including nuclear facilities, hospitals, chemical process plants and laboratories. According to executives, the firm`s containment housing filter systems and unique bag-in/bag-out products will complement Farr`s HVAC offerings, providing future growth opportunities for both businesses. — TGW
