B&V wins pharmaceutical contracts

Black & Veatch is staying active in the pharmaceutical industry. The company has been selected to design an $80 million, fully automated solid-dose manufacturing facility in Puerto Rico for Pharmacia Upjohn. B&V has also been awarded a fast-track contract for the design, installation and validation of a new water for injection (WFI) system at International Isotopes in Denton, TX. In addition, B&V recently completed a study to develop thalidomide containment strategies in the lab at Lloyd Laboratories in Shenandoah, IA. — TGW
