Osmonics Inc. has completed its acquisition of Membrex Inc. (Fairfield, NJ), a privately held company that designs and manufactures membrane products and fluid treatment systems for industrial markets. Prior to the acquisition, Osmonics collaborated with Membrex in developing the WasteWizard, a device that incorporates Membrex`s proprietary hydrophilic ultrafiltration, solvent-resistant membrane that separates oil from water and recyclable cleaners. The product can be used to recycle industrial coolants and other fluids, minimize chemical usage and reduce waste generation, according to the company. Osmonics will introduce the product through Safety-Kleen, an environmental and industrial service company. — SES
