This mobile dryer/conveyor (MDC) is an independent material handling system. It combines an SC30 carousel dehumidifying dryer with a dry-air conveying system that can dry 40 pounds of polycarbonate per hour. According to the manufacturer, all drying and conveying air is processed through a HEPA-class filter that separates solids as small as 0.3 micron with 99.8 percent efficiency. The MDC can function as a full-time production system or be used for batch sampling new material grades to minimize the risk of contaminating a central materials handling system.
