PRI executive sees ray of hope
Billerica, MA
Mitch Tyson, president and CEO of materials handling and robotics firm PRI Automation, has a somewhat more hopeful view of the fab-building situation than some others in the industry. “The business outlook feels better — we see some new 200-mm fab projects beginning to move forward,” says Tyson. “The proof will be in the next couple of months, but I feel encouraged that we`re seeing the beginnings of an upturn.” He noted that potential customers are requesting quick delivery on quotes, and noted, “they could still back out, but no one is going ahead ignorantly.” Asia and the U.S. are both showing signs of life, he added. — WaferNews (V.5.49)
