The unit maintains a sheath of clean, dry air or nitrogen around its emitter points, which helps cut maintenance requirements by preventing particles from being attracted to the points. According to the manufacturer, the 5290eu requires maintenance every six to 12 months, depending on the environment and cleanliness of the supplied gas.
