Tool bookings mark second record at $1.83B, says SEMI

The figure is eight percent above November's revised $1.7 billion in orders—also a record—and a whopping 108% above year-ago levels.

With the announcement that Numerical Technologies (NumeriTech) is licensing several of its subwavelength design-to-manufacturing products to Cadence Design, an EDA vendor, industry observers are speculating that the alliance will square off against a similar corporate pairing between ASML MaskTools and Mentor Graphics.
