Financials — April 18, 2000 — Texas Instruments First Quarter Revenues up 27%

DALLAS, TX—Texas Instruments reaped the rewards of the Internet-backed bandwidth push last quarter with revenues of $2.653 billion. The technology giant cited digital signal processor (DSP) deals with Cisco and Sony that pushed revenues up 27 percent from 1999's first quarter and up 4 percent sequentially.

SAN JOSE, CA—Ultratech Stepper has closed its UltraBeam Lithography business. The project focused on developing electron beam technologies for the photomask manufacturing industry. UltraBeam employs about 30 people and is based in Murray Hill, NJ.



According to the company, the decision is the best alternative for enhancing stockholder value. UltraBeam has generated no significant revenues. Ultratech will report a special charge for the discontinuation in its Q2’00 financial results.
