World Semiconductor Council Meets to Clarify Position on Internet Economic Issues

CHEJU, Korea&#151May 10, 2000—The World Semiconductor Council met last week to clarify their position on Internet-related issues. In a statement released after the gathering, the attendees say too much government participation, either nationally or internationally, in e-commerce and in Internet standards development would limit a free and open market. As a result, growth of the semiconductor industry and its consumers would be adversely affected.
