Lucent Announces Microelectronics Division Spin-off.

MURRAY HILL, N.J.—July 20, 2000—Lucent Technologies Inc. confirmed rumors with its announcement today of plans to create an autonomous entity of its $4 billion microelectronics business. The new company will include Lucent's optoelectronics components and IC divisions.
