Broadcom to Acquire Altima Communications

IRVINE, Calif.—July 31, 2000—Broadcom today announced that it has signed a definitive agreement to acquire Altima, a supplier of networking ICs for the small-to-medium business (SMB) networking market. Broadcom describes itself as a provider of ICs enabling high-speed broadband communications to and throughout the home and business.
