LETTERKENNY, Ireland — Nov. 13, 2000 — The Institute of Technology in Letterkenny today celebrated the official opening of its new business development center, which was designed to strengthen the bond between the college and high-tech industry.
The center hosts a cleanroom facility, which is expected to be occupied shortly, and an engineering training center. The center also plans to tailor training programs to the e-commerce, finance, information technology and human resources development needs of companies.
Six companies, including Sterling Fluid Systems, Ebylls Ltd., and Eland Technologies, have already moved into the facility, which unofficially opened in July. Officials are hoping companies will find they have easy access to high-trained graduates.
