Metron Acquires Cleanroom Garment Supplier

SINGAPORE — Nov. 20, 2000 — Semiconductor support solutions giant Metron Technology has strengthened its Asian presence by acquiring Intec Technology, a Singapore-based supplier of cleanroom garments.

Under the acquisition, Metron issued new shares in exchange for the full issued share capital of Intec and its wholly owned Malaysian subsidiary.

“Joining forces with Intec represents another important step for Metron in executing on our announced strategy to expand our global materials business, ” said Ed Segal, president and CEO of Metron. “Intec is a well-established company with an excellent reputation for customer service in both Singapore and Malaysia.”

Intec officials say the deal will allow Intec “to evolve from a regional business to a global enterprise.”

Metron is a leading provider of outsourced marketing, sales, service and support solutions to the semiconductor industry.
