Wrapping up 2000

What a year this has been! Advanced Packaging magazine has seen many great changes this year: a new and invigorated staff…an enthusiastic publisher…a renewed commitment to the industry…a fresh new design. And, of course, we have to squeeze in just one more thing before the year 2000 ticks away: I am so pleased to announce that you will receive Advanced Packaging magazine on a monthly basis beginning with the January 2001 issue. In fact, this is the last combined issue of Advanced Packaging magazine we will publish.

Since its introduction in 1992, Advanced Packaging magazine has followed a 10-time schedule, and considering the amazing growth this industry (not to mention this magazine) has experienced, you could say it's about time that we do this for you. I certainly believe that serving our readers on a monthly basis is a natural extension of our commitment to the packaging industry. It allows for us to provide you even more of the quality technical information that you have come to expect and rely on from Advanced Packaging magazine. And filling the magazine with more great material is a task we editors enjoy. It's exciting for us to bring you even more insights, such as our interview this month on page XX with Bob Hilton, recipient of the Second Annual Microelectronics Packaging Technologist Award.

So, as this year comes to a close, I would be remiss if I didn't express my thanks to our dedicated readers for enthusiastically and steadfastly supporting all of the positive changes this magazine has experienced this past year. Everyone at Advanced Packaging magazine wishes you and your families a wonderful holiday season and new year. 2001 is going to be a great year, and we look forward to sharing it with you.

Until next month,
Amy Knutson-Strack
Editor
