West Bay Semiconductor set to expand

Vancouver, Canada–West Bay Semiconductor, Inc. is expanding its headquarters to accommodate more engineering, marketing, sales, and administration professionals, as well as to house additional state-of-the-art laboratory equipment. The company reports that it will double its staff next year.

“The market we are in is growing very rapidly and we must continue to build our infrastructure to support customers, increase our competitiveness, and gain market share,” says Tino Varelas, West Bay Semiconductor’s president. “Key to the success of West Bay Semiconductor will be our ability to capitalize on the growing interest and demand for our solutions.”

The expanded facility will be 6,600-sq-ft, nearly double the company’s original space, which will be used to add office space and build a new test, design, and verification laboratory. West Bay Semiconductor expects the new laboratory to be fully operational by February 2001.
