Aliso Viejo, California–CR Technology, Inc., a supplier of advanced vision and x-ray inspection systems, recently introduced RTI-7500, a high-speed vision inspection system. The system sets a new industry standard, reports the company, with its advanced color image processing, precision, and high-speed inspection.

The RTI-7500 uses high-resolution cameras to check solder joints and verify part installation with speed and accuracy, according to CR. Color inspection capabilities are provided by CR’s color mega-pixel camera. The cameras extract triple the amount of information of a gray-scale system, enabling superior detail and greatly reduced false failures.

Capable of accommodating up to 18-inch by 20-inch printed circuit boards (PCBs), the new system allows nondestructive inspection of PCBs. The system is designed for easy installation over existing production lines and features user-friendly software to make it easy for manufacturers to automate all inspection processes. Self-learning programmability allows inspection programs to be completed quickly, with typical boards taking less than 30 minutes to program, reports CR.
