PDF Solutions opens offices in Japan, Italy

San Jose, California–PDF Solutions, Inc., which provides comprehensive infrastructure technologies and services to improve yield and optimize performance of ICs, recently announced the opening of new offices in Japan and Italy.

Technical staff at the Japan service center will work with local and regional clients to improve product time-to-volume by implementing PDF’s design-to-silicon yield solutions. The technology center in Italy will join PDF’s worldwide R&D organization in developing new silicon

infrastructure technologies for PDF’s clients.

“Opening PDF KK demonstrates our continued commitment to provide the best possible service to our clients in Japan, a country that

headquarters 40% of the world’s top 20 semiconductor

manufacturers. The new office also provides a base for further

strengthening our involvement in Asian semiconductor manufacturing

projects,” says John Kibarian, president and CEO of PDF Solutions.

“Establishing the Italian technology center is another step in PDF’s

strategy of acquiring and integrating semiconductor production

expertise across national boundaries, thus enhancing our ability to

provide comprehensive yield and performance solutions.”

Engineers at the Japan service center, located at Solid Square

East Tower 404 in Kawasaki, will work with local clients and PDF

engineers from around the globe to implement PDF’s design-to-silicon yield solutions. Sales will continue to be conducted through PDF’s Japanese Sales Representative, Innotech.

The technology center in Desenzano, Italy, will focus on design of

comprehensive test chips, or characterization vehicles, that will be

used to model the impact of front-end-of-line and back-end-of-line

process variables on circuit performance, reliability, and signal

integrity. This R&D center will work closely with PDF development and

application teams worldwide to identify and isolate problems at the

frontier of technology and product development. It will define

strategies and methods to characterize, model, and resolve yield

problems. The new office is located at Via Roma, 10, 25015 Desenzano S/G, Brescia, Italy.
