Philips Semiconductors awards IDS multi-year contract

San Mateo, California–IDS Software Systems (IDS), a leading supplier of platform independent data management and statistical yield analysis software for the semiconductor industry, announced that Philips Semiconductors has awarded it a $7.5 million, multi-year corporate contract to provide data and yield management software and support services for its semiconductor operations worldwide.

As Philips Semiconductors implemented dataPOWERsc, a software solution for semiconductor manufacturing data analysis and yield management, over the last 3 years, “It has become the standard across Philips Semiconductors manufacturing facilities worldwide,” said Joost Smeets, Philips Semiconductors’ Project Manager for Global Roll-Out of dataPOWERsc. “We have gained significant productivity and yield benefits from our implementation of dataPOWERsc and we made a multi-year commitment based on our successful experience with IDS. Partnering with IDS has paid huge dividends to us and has proven IDS’ commitment to its customers.”

Over the last 2 years, Philips Semiconductors has rolled out IDS dataPOWERsc across its semiconductor operations worldwide. “The Philips Semiconductors contract is a significant milestone for us,” said Andre Hawit, IDS president and CEO. “We pride ourselves for listening to our customers and responding to their needs, creating a win-win situation for all concerned.
