Rodel, STI sell certain assets to EMINESS

Phoenix, Arizona–Rodel, Inc., an innovator of integrated materials for the microelectronics industry, and its wholly owned subsidiary, Solution Technology, Inc. (STI), have announced the sale of certain assets held by both companies to EMINESS Technologies Inc.

The transaction is the first phase of a plan for Rodel and STI to strengthen service and support capabilities for small quantity sales of their products. In the second phase of the plan, to be implemented in the second quarter of 2001, EMINESS will act as an exclusive distributor for Rodel’s full line of products to customers who require small quantity orders in the semiconductor, silicon wafer, and storage media substrates industries.

EMINESS is a newly formed corporation, headquartered in Scottsdale, AZ, with manufacturing operations in Monroe, NC. Its management team is comprised of former personnel from Rodel and STI. Scott Loncki, a 14-year industry veteran and former vice president of Rodel’s CMP Division, serves as president of EMINESS Technologies.

EMINESS will become the one-stop source for a full line of slurries, Rodel pads, as well as technical support services for all of its customers’ polishing needs. It will also continue STI’s role of manufacturing and developing slurries for the optical and specialty polishing markets.
