TranSwitch, Intellectual Capital for Integrated Circuits enter technology agreement

Shelton, Connecticut–TranSwitch Corp.,a leading developer and global supplier of innovative high-speed VLSI solutions for communications applications, has entered into a strategic technology partnership and OEM agreement with a fabless semiconductor company called Intellectual Capital for Integrated Circuits (IC4IC), a privately held, Israel-based company, that specializes in designing, developing, and marketing VLSI solutions serving the wireless internet market segment for multi-access platforms.

The first IC4IC chip set is targeted at supporting a cost-effective network infrastructure for mobile Internet services via highly integrated, multi-layer transport and service processing.

“IC4IC’s broad experience in developing products for digital signal processing applications will serve as a solid foundation for the development of leading-edge VLSI products offering a strong competitive differentiation. In combination with other TranSwitch VLSI solutions, this partnership will allow TranSwitch customers to develop high-speed access and transport products offering unique features, low power and technical flexibility for the wireless internet market,” says Dr. Santanu Das, president and chief executive officer of TranSwitch.

IC4IC recently closed initial rounds of financing with a total of approximately $7.7 million. Two venture capital groups, Nisko High Tech and Neurone II, joined TranSwitch in the funding.
