Legerity opens IC design center in Canada

FEB. 20 Austin, Texas–Legerity today announced the opening of its new, advanced communication IC design center in Ottawa, Ontario. The center will focus on communication system design and validation and CMOS integrated circuit design and verification, which are key technologies for the company’s global growth plans.

The design center’s technical capabilities will supplement Legerity’s existing system-level design and validation resources at its headquarters in Austin, Texas. This will enable Legerity to accelerate product development for rapidly emerging voice over broadband (VoB) and integrated data and voice applications.

“Ottawa is an ideal location for Legerity’s design center because it is one of the leading regions in the world for communication system and semiconductor design,” says Ron Van Dell, CEO of Legerity. “We are extremely pleased to have begun assembling a top-notch design staff and integrating them into Legerity’s technical family. The new design center is a tremendous asset for Legerity, and we expect groundbreaking system and IC innovations from the combined talent in Austin and Ottawa.”
