Adept releases new machine vision software

April 9, 2001 – San Jose, CA – Adept Technology, Inc. has released its new machine vision software product for robot guidance and parts inspection. The HexSight Version 3.0 will reduce engineering and programming costs and allow customers to automate demanding guidance applications, Adept said.

The new software has multi-model capabilities that allow simultaneous processing of multiple part types in the same image. The company also said that the HexSight has been optimized for ease-of-use and includes automatic model teaching algorithm and multi-threaded execution capabilities.

Additionally, the software features true geometric object location because it uses the geometry of various parts to locate them in the field of view, and can resolve challenging applications that involve overlapping or partially touching parts by using contour-based object location.
